Florida Gas Prices Nearing $3 A Gallon

TAMPA, Florida -- The average price of regular gasoline in Florida is $3.284 per gallon - down nearly a quarter from $3.529 just a month ago, according to GasBuddy.com.  Florida gas prices are a dime less than the U.S. national average of $3.385 per gallon.

The lowest gas prices in Florida are clustering in Riverview, Florida (near Tampa) at $3.05 per gallon while the highest gas prices in Florida - which are well over $5 a gallon - are in the tourist districts around Orlando, Florida.

It pays to shop around in Brevard County where the lowest gas prices are about $3.18 a gallon at several gas stations in the Cocoa and Rockledge area.  Gas prices are around a nickel higher on the barrier islands and the mainland north of State Road 528 (Beachline Expressway) and south of State Road 404 (Pineda Causeway).
