No Postage Rate Increase In January - But May Occur Later In 2015

The price of a first class U.S. Postage Stamp, along with all other USPS shipping products and services, will not increase in January 2015.

This was due in part to last year's increase from 46 to 49 cents.   However, a price hike may occur later this year, according to a U.S. Postal Service announcement last October.

Including the 2014 hike, the cost of a U.S. first class stamp had increased by 25 percent since 2006 when it was 39 cents, 3 cents above the official Consumer Price Index inflation rate for the same time period.
